This 5 minute video will show step-by-step the clinical protocol for correctly bonding a zirconia-framed "Maryland" bridge for predictable, long term success. The video shows each step in the process, and Michael also provides some recommendations on products you can use, as he describes the process in detail. 

This 4 minute video will show you how to prepare the best margins and overall cavity preparation for a direct posterior composite restoration to ensure minimal risk of "White Line" formation, microleakage, staining and post-operative sensitivity. 

Speech Pathologist, Tia Pearce, explains the various speech sounds that are controlled by tooth and lip position and how the reshaping of teeth by dental procedures may impact on these sounds.

Tia goes on to explain the importance of maxillary incisal edge position in the enunciation of “S” and “F & V” sounds. Watch this interview to understand how these sounds are made, and thus understand how to use these phonetic tests clinically, to determine whether your planned new restorations are actually too long, too short, or just right.

This 5 minute video will show you how to safely use TCA to control crevicular fluid flow and limit the risk of bleeding during dental procedures, by chemically cauterising the gingival sulcus.

Course Description:

This 3 minute video will show you how to carefully remove impression cord, syringe light body impression material around each preparation, air-blow it, and then seat a custom impression tray in order to achieve perfect veneer impression. 

What you will learn:

• Impression cord should be carefully “teased” out of the sulcus, not pulled out
• Light Body impression material (PVS) should be refrigerated for at least an hour before use to extend working time
• Air thin the impression material to “blow” it into the sulcus
• Second pass of Light Body starts in areas observed to be deficient in impression material
• Seat the tray loaded with Heavy Body material, and set a timer to ensure full setting time is achieved

This 5 minute video demonstrates how to make durable provisional veneers using the silicone index technique and a bis-acryl provisional material. Finishing and polishing procedures enable the fabrication of a cosmetically acceptable and very mildly functional set of porvisional restorations.

Have you had post-op sensitivity under new crowns or composite restorations ? It could be the Dentine Bonding technique you are using is incorrect. 

Dr Mandikos speak about how to avoid these post-operative complications and how to manage them, if they happen. He also talks about whether we need the "additional" steps of applying products like Gluma and Chlorhexidine.

The congenitally missing maxillary lateral incisors creates a challenging clinical situation to treat. An aesthetic, functional and conservative treatment is required, usually in a very young patient. Should treatment thus be with an implant ? a bridge ? or with canine substitution ?

In this post-course interview, Dr Mandikos speaks with a "Legend of Gold", Dr Randy Allan, about all of the amazing benefits of cast Gold restorations. Dr Allan explains how Gold can be beneficial for the patient (from conservatism through to its incredible longevity) and also discusses why it is beneficial to the Dentist too - notably its simplicity to cement and lack of post-operative complications. The pair also discuss the place of Gold alongside or even instead of, modern all-ceramic restorations.

Speech Pathologist, Tia Pearce, explains the causes of and treatment for Tongue Thrust, which is so often responsible for causing tooth displacement in children that subsequently needs to be treated by Orthodontics. As Tia describes, the condition can be detected early and treatment is simple and effective and may even avoid the need for Orthodontics, if treated early.

In the second part of the interview, Dr Mandikos asks Tia about her views on Tongue Tie in infants and if, how and when it should be treated. Watch the interview to hear what she has to say about this often controversial topic !
